India - No Objection Certificate

All pets entering into India must got a NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE from the ANIMAL QUARANTINE STATION in India, whether pets come as an accompanied or manifest cargo, prior to landing into India .

This document takes around 1 week to obtain .

Documents required prior to obtaining this No Objection Certificate are as follows: (scan copy or fax copy would be sufficient)
1. All vaccination records of the pet, with data of the pet
2. Government issued veterinary certificate from the exporting country
3. Flight details / confirmation of the passenger's travel into India / Copy of the airway bill

The NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the Animal Quarantine Station in India must be obtained by local clearing agent in India. It must be obtained in person and no online application.
The NOC will be sent to the Shipper by fax or a scanned copy by email . The original must be presented to the Airline in India at the port of entry of the pet before the pet has been loaded in the other country.

If the pet is coming accompanied, the owner of the pet must carry the NOC copy with him at all times. If the pet is coming as manifest cargo , the NOC copy must be attached on the crate in a transparent pouch to protect it from damage .

Can anyone help me with names of local clearing agents. I contacted the one but was quoted a ridiculous amount of Rs. 7000/- for the NOC

In my opinion if you ask a company to get it for Rs7,000 or about USD150 should be a fair rate. Unless you ask a free lance to do it. A company or a specialist would charge you all the overhead, and knowledge into account, but the result should be properly visible.

Hi,

Was planning to travel to India with my pet in may 2009 from US to India, Heard that they are not enforcing the No Objection certificate and that the USDA stamp letter was enough,

Is that correct??
Otherwise is there any company on the web who does the NOC for pets to india

Has anyone had any experience flying Continental Airlines into Mumbai with their pet? Can you give me a name and number of a clearing agent in Mumbai?

Its pretty simple just send a copy of all the pet certificates you got, your passport copy, air ticket copy, Airway bill of your pets and send it to your friend or relative in delhi. He/she can go to the quarantine office in kapasheda. They will give the NOC the very same day or at the max next day. When we landed nobody even checked the docs properly and at the NOC office we were not charged a single penny. Its free of cost to get the NOC.

My brother is bringing 3 pets from USA. So far no information of NOC have been heard from the travels that he had booked. Now I check in sites that NOC is required to land in India. I am from Kerala and I want to get that soon .. All the papers for the dogs are clear. Vaccination, travel docs etc. Can you please advice me from where I can get it? It would be a great help for me. Thanks.
