Fly PetSafe with Continental Airlines

When you decide to ship your pets unacompanied this Summer.

The summer should be a great time to fly with pets to Latin America from the U.S. (to Mexico, Caribbean, Centraland South America).

We have more capacity in these markets than ever before, so we're able to move pets on flights this summer that have normally been full in the past. Also, we are flying more aircraft that can accommodate live animals this summer to some of the smaller cities around the United States.

Places like Buffalo, New York; St. Louis, Missouri; Del Rio, Texas; and others are benefitting from new aircraft being used by our regional partners Colgan and Chautauqua.

Another important fact about Continental is that you can count on us flying your pets 365 days/yr.

We will not embargo live animals just because the weather is heating up. Our world head quarters and largest hub city is located in Houston,Texas where temperatures exceed 95-100 degrees (90-100% humidity) for at least 6-7 months of the year. So, we understand how to protect animals from the extremetemperatures! Other carriers will leave you stranded at the last minute butContinental will find a way to fly your pet safely.

In places like Phoenix, Arizona where temperatures on the airport's tarmac can reach 135 degrees F, we can utilize very early and very late evening flights to ensure pets are safe along with ourclimate-controlled vehicles.

Finally, we continue to expand.

Our newest route is the non-stop service betweenShanghai (PVG) to New York (Newark -EWR). And our seasonal flight from New York toAthens starts again (daily) on May 2nd and will remain through the summer.
We also continue to fly two daily non-stops from Tokyo's Narita airport to Houston and toNew York (EWR).
We also have a hub in Guam and serve points throughout the Pacific.

Does Continental accept pets as acompanied baggage?

We must accept all pets only as cargo. Sorry.

Costa Rica need an import permit for pets

Animals to shipped as Cargo to Costa Rica need an Import Permit.

Animals including pets (dog and cat) travel to Costa Rica as cargo will need an Import Permit issued by Costa Rican Government at least 72 hours prior departure. For Cargo it has to be cleared at San Jose Airport (SJO) only, where is customs facilities in there.

Import permit must be pre-requested 4 working days prior departure and would not be issued until arrival of the shipment. It will need to submit copy of the Health certificate and the Air Waybill (AWB) number.

Pets arrival without pre-request of Import permit will be held at the customs warehouse, It won't be released until the permit issued, it would take 24-48 hours.

Pets arriving as excess baggage (with a passenger on board) do NOT need an import permit. On excess baggage pets or in-cabin pets can fly into Liberia (LIR), there is no customs facilities in there.

The First PETS-ONLY AIRLINES

Pet Only Airlines Taking Off

Pet only Airlines plans to serve within US for 5 major cities New York, Washington DC, Miami, Denver, Chicago and Los Angles. Using pets only plane the pets will not be in cargo anymore but in the passenger cabin.

It will operate in July 14, 2009, when the peoples are going for holidays. It's one point that now peoples in US are easily plan their holidays with pets, while in the previous years they hav difficulty in getting their cats or dogs on the plane due to the restrictions in every Summer Holiday made by domestic Airlines, either must be small enough to be put under the cabin seat or must go as manifest cargo.

Some peoples reluctant to bring their pets as cargo because they said the pets are not a luggage, now they are happy to find such pets only plane operated. This experience that has caused the founders of Pet Airways decided to run this business.

With a promotion fare of $149 for each fly seems affordable by most pets owners.
Pets owner can drop their pet 2 hours before departure and can use online tracking.
